Jan. 17 - Last Night in Coronado

Today we woke up to another beautiful day in Costa Rica. This morning we drove about an hour to one of the poorest communities in Costa Rica. During our time there, we visited a single mothers ministry. We all sat in a small living room of the ministry, and learned about what they do. They have Bible studies, sewing classes, and other support groups for single mothers. They also have recently started a gym. For $4 a month, women can use the equipment and participate in a variety of classes (including pilates, dance, and cardio). After a tour of the gym, we spent some time playing with the kids of the single mothers at a daycare run by the ministry. We had a delicious lunch of rice and chips prepared by the director of the ministry; we said our goodbyes and headed to our game.

We were honored to play the U20 National team of Costa Rica. They showed a lot of skill, good footwork, and speed. After a long and tiring match, the result was in our favor, 3-1. Again another team mate shared her testimony, and the field director of SCORE shared the Gospel. After a long ride back to the Coronado complex, we had a good dinner of sausage, rice, and vegetables. The field director then led us in devotions, and we got to enjoy our last night in Coronado. Six games in six days is very tiring, and we are both excited and sad for our last game tomorrow.
